During the year, the PCC approved the brief mission statement “To bring more of the community to God and more of God to the community” with the strapline “here for good”
Steady progress has been made throughout the year ever mindful of Bishop Stephen’s themes which accurately reflect who we faithfully are, as friends and companions of Jesus, and where we might hopefully be led by God – the Five Ps:-
> Our Purpose is to Radiate the Light and Love of Jesus
> Our Passion is for God’s World
> We are People Called to be Fully Alive as God’s Companions
> We Live, Worship; and Serve in Real Places
> We need Plans to put our Purpose and Passion into effect and to get the best out of people
Our Bishop is keen that our plans should be linked in with plans for the Deanery. In this respect there has been an increase in collaborative ministry with St. Mary’s, Great Shelford, during their long interregnum.
Our focus on “every member ministry” continues and we are encouraged by the attendance at House and Prayer groups.
One of the highlights of the year was the Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrated by the whole community.
